2026 CVO Update:

We are incredibly proud to share that the Lac du Bonnet Ice Fishing Derby has paid out an amazing $15,441 to our volunteer groups this year including the Hole Drilling contracts!

This wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication and energy of 208 volunteers who came together to support their organizations while helping deliver another unforgettable Derby.

These funds are going right back into our community, supporting a wide range of incredible groups, including: Abundant Life Chapel – REFUGE Youth, Alzheimer’s Society, Auglen Park & District Community Association, Bird River Fire Department, 249 Air Cadet Squadron, Lac du Bonnet Community Garden, Lac du Bonnet Curling Club, Eastman SnoPals, EESS Girls High School Hockey Team, Fire & Water Music Festival, Jack’s Animal Rescue, Kids Snowflake Bazaar, Lac du Bonnet & District Charitable Foundation, Lac du Bonnet Fire Department, Lac du Bonnet & District Historical Society, Lac du Bonnet Arena, Lac du Bonnet Chamber of Commerce, Lac du Bonnet Cross Country Ski Trails, Lac du Bonnet & District Food Bank, LdBSS PAC, Lac du Bonnet Regional Library, Lac du Bonnet Lions Club, Lac du Bonnet Trails Association, Lac du Bonnet Wildlife Association, LdBSS Grad Committee, Lutheran Church of the Cross, Manitoba Darts Zone 2, Pinawa Panthers High School Hockey Team, and Survivor’s Hope Crisis Centre.

From hole drilling (over 2,228 holes!) and auger crews, to fish measuring, registration, raffle ticket sales, kids’ zone activities, on-ice games, prize distribution, emceeing, data collection, security (including overnight), fire pit area, ticket checkers, handing out fishing rods & hand warmers, and post-derby clean-up — every role mattered, and every volunteer made a difference.

This is what the Derby is all about: Community Supporting Community.

Thank you to each and every volunteer for your time, your hard work, and your commitment. Because of you, the Derby continues to give back in a meaningful way year after year.

We may be using a different program to register for CVO in 2027!

Stay tuned…….

We would also like to extend our thanks to the ACCESS Credit Union Team for assisting with the Check-In & Wrist banding Station, and to Keith from RBC for capturing the smiles of our happy random prize winners!

Additionally, we want to highlight that the Identification Vests, funded in part by the Lac du Bonnet Foundation, were a total game changer!
